About

Heya! I'm Yan Yi.

I recently graduated from the National University of Singapore with a degree in Computer Engineering.

I spent a year in the Bay Area on the NUS Overseas Colleges program, studying part time at Stanford while working full-time designing quieter and more intelligent air curtains.

After returning to Singapore, I did software engineering internships at ViSenze, a Computer Vision startup and Viddsee, a platform for Asian short films.

I'm currently a software engineer at Xfers. We are a Y Combinator backed startup working on simplifying online payments with Internet Banking. If you have a bank account and hate the current way of making online transactions, or lament about the not-so-cheap fees that credit cards charge - check us out!

In my free time, I can be found reading and learning about new stuff. That will also be the focus of this blog along with my journey of self-improvement. I am an engineer by trade, but am also keenly interested in product, business and the world around us.
